Evening talk: An Imbolc storytelling circle

The raw material of mythology: An Imbolc storytelling circle

with Sam Crosby

Tickets: https://ticketpass.org/event/EGNJMC/the-raw-material-of-mythology-an-imbolc-storytelling-circle

Come to The Convivial for an evening of ancient mythology and reflection to celebrate Imbolc: the new year according the Celtic calendar.

Guided by Sam Crosby of Recalling Fire, take an evening to a explore the turning points in your life through the lens of mythic meaning-making. Start the Celtic new year with a strong dose of remembering, sharing and food.

And bring a bottle, if that's your preference.

"Wisdom isn't learning something new, it's being reminded of what you've always known."

-

There's something insane happening to us in the modern day. We are living as though we're alone. Ancestorless. Root-parted. We've forgotten the names of our great grandparents, our oldest stories. And we bang and jolt our way through our modern trials, drunk on the absurdity of global politic, keeping ourselves to ourselves, keeping it all together.

This event is a dare. An invitation to look back. Get mythic. Instead of stepping into the Celtic new year as though we're alone, we'll call up old stories and see what the old timers had to say.

Ancient images full of universal, time-tested wisdom, mirroring the patterns we go through when we face challenge.

Transition. Transformation. Threshold.

Whether you're one of the "new-year-new-me" people, the "shhh, it's still winter" people or somewhere in the middle, this event is your opportunity to step over the threshold. Winter ending. Spring beginning.

Join Sam Crosby at The Convivial for an evening of food, community and myth, exploring the wisdom already inside you.
