Studios and spaces

Workspaces / studios

The Convivial pays its ground rent through letting 6 studio / workspaces — three lockable workspaces on the ground floor, and three stable-style spaces on the basement floor, which have direct access to the courtyard.

We are interested in hosting an interdisciplinary mixture of artists, researchers, ecologists, writers etc. Whatever your practice, you are most welcome*.

Is The Convivial right for me?

If you feel inspired by the following questions, we’d love to hear from you:

How might we:

  • imagine new ways of being?

  • create networks of reciprocity?

  • flourish together?

  • conjure in a localised way?

  • seed our courage to enact new stories?

  • re-enchant ourselves?

If you’re after a thriving, discursive community of engaged folk, we hope you’ll find a home here. The space has a kitchen, bathroom, small communal space with free tea and coffee, and a space you can use to host gatherings, events and workshops.

* The Convivial’s building has some accessibility issues regarding steps and width of doors. Additionally, the space is not suitable for any craft which requires high levels of ventilation. Please get in touch if you have questions relating to these points.

More info on prices / dimensions / photos coming soon!

In the meantime, please register your interest in a workspace using the form at the end of this page.

Spaces for hire

We have a community ‘living room’ available to use for gatherings, workshops, rituals and other events. The living room can fit up to 25 seated. Please get in touch to come and see if it’s suitable for you.

Additionally, there is a courtyard space available for early evening events — small installations, storytelling, performance pieces and musical happenings.

Both of these spaces can be hired at a donation price — i.e. whatever is affordable to you and can be agreed upon without resentment or going over-capacity for either party. This is a super open conversation! We’re also very happy to talk about other-than-financial forms of reciprocity. This does not have to take the form of a direct exchange, but rather an ongoing, renegotiable and reciprocal relationship.

Photos coming soon!

If you’d like to come and view the space or talk more about options, please get in touch using the form at the end of this page.
