An ecosystem of stories, from the end of the world. Exploring and discussing nature, mind and the spaces between.

Earth Write is a platform for writers of any ability, experience or confidence to showcase, discuss and develop their work, and explore ideas.

The theme is centered around ecology, mind and now. Psychology, nature and navigating an uncertain future. What does it mean, how does it feel - to live the human experience in this time of crisis, and wonder?

Earth Write aims to create an ecosystem of stories, from the end of the world. A grassroots collective of ideas, culture and community. Allowing us to process, adapt to, share and capture this unprecendented moment.

Anyone is welcome. Any voice. Any body. The format and genre are completely open. Whether essay, narrative or poetry. Fiction or fact. Dystopia or folklore. All ideas are welcome.

Each event will present a curation of three writers, all having presubmitted work. Writers will be given 15 minutes to present their piece either themselves or through a representative. The audience will then have 15 minutes to discuss and ask questions, facilitating deep discussion, and a platform for all voices.

All submitted pieces will be published on substack and eventually a phisical zine, after every series (4-5 events).

For Earth Write #1, on Sunday 31st May, 7-9pm, we have three insightful pieces, from three unique writers.

  • Alice Sainsbury - 'THE UNDERSTOREY. Disabled Ecology: Relearning Our Place in the Living World'.

  • Bella Williams - 'The Pasture Cloak'.

  • Lou Astbury - TBC

Earth Write aims to create a space for all, if you have any accessibility issues please contact sambmanning@gmail.com before the event. If you would like to view the venue to assess the space before the event please contact hellotheconvivial@gmail.com.

Tickets are on a donation, 'pay as you feel' basis. Any profits will go towards the venue.

The venue offers low cost meals, at £5 each. Tea is provided for free. This will be a vegan set menu. You are welcome to bring any food and drink to consume at the venue during the event.
