Moving Grief

with Sam Lawrence

With more space for tending and nurturing our grief, we increase our capacity for joy, self-compassion and compassion for others.

This workshop will include some guided meditation, gentle movement based warm ups/embodiment practices, some grief tending rituals, and the opportunity to express, share and witness grief in a safe and supportive context, with time for soothing and integration.

All kinds of grief are welcome, including grief for wider systems of life (human and beyond). However, if you have very recently experienced a bereavement (in the last six months), are feeling close to overwhelm, or are very short of support or holding, I recommend you put more support in place before attending.

I felt incredibly held and contained after the session. It seemed so natural to co-witness each other's grief...like something we are supposed to do, at every level of our being... (2025 participant)

As I have spent the last day or so being with my sorrows, they have passed through, and the deep joy and happy energy which I have felt in my life, but has been missing for so long, has started to have a life again. It was so, so nice to be held by Sam, when I do so much holding in my working life. (2025 participant)

I felt held, accepted and nurtured. (2026 participant)
